Transition Hope Valley

The Transition Valley Group began in 2009 with the main aims of promoting sustainability in relation to the issues of local food, energy production and conservation, and green transport links.

To begin to explore these issues we have shown films on climate change and local food; run “greening your home” workshops; run a “grow your own” day in Hope; run three “Apple days” in Shatton; begun a local food map; with the National Trust run three coppice days in Grindleford — fun family events highlighting a renewable resource, benefits to wildlife, green woodworking skills and some local history.

Group meets approximately every two months in various locations along the Hope Valley. Website: transitionhopevalley.org.uk
